Sim Bhullar and the Sacramento Kings have agreed to a deal that signs Sim Bhullar through training camp. Sim Bhullar is a 7’5’ 360 lbs. center that played college basketball at New Mexico State University.
The Kings have been very adamant about finding gaps in the market for obtaining talent, so the extreme size of Bhullar in comparison to most players in his position most likely is the reason for this transaction. Bhullar was fifth in collegiate basketball in blocked shots last year at 3.37 per game
While born in Canada, Bhullar is the first player of Indian decent to play in the NBA as both his mother and father migrated from Punjab, India to Ontario, Canada. Sim also has a younger brother, Tanveer, which may be an NBA prospect as well.
India is the second most populated country in the world with about 1,248,000,000 million people. Basketball as a sport has not become popular in Indian culture, so this most likely an attempt for the NBA to make its presence felt as it did in China. Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé is from Mumbai, India, so it make sense the Kings would be the first team to hire and Indian basketball player.
Sim Bhullar is unlikely to make the roster due to a lack of conditioning and mobility, but the Kings lose very little by giving him a camp deal. Also the Kings do have an opportunity to sign him their NBDL affiliate after the conclusion of training camp.
At 7’5″, Sim Bhullar is the biggest player in the 2014 NBA Draft and is taller than any current NBA player. The two-time WAC Tournament MVP out of New Mexico State would be the first ever NBA player of primarily Indian descent.
Bhullar has taken some criticism for being too raw to make it in the fast-paced NBA. Leading up to the Draft, he has been training at Impact Basketball Academy in Las Vegas to work on his game and conditioning.
We followed Sim during his training and spoke with his parents about their son’s journey toward the NBA. A special thanks to the Bhullars and Impact Basketball Academy for their help in making this video.
Watch and let us know if you think Sim’s name should be called on June 26th.
How’s this for irony … V. Stiviano said a bunch of racist stuff about black people — and TMZ Sports has the footage.
V. Stiviano was the woman behind the released audio of former LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling. On the audio Sterling can be heard making racist remarks towards black people and telling Stiviano not to bring them to Clippers games. The notorious tapes led to Sterling’s oust from the NBA, the sale of the team and an enormous media firestorm.
Well now the tables have slightly turned as a tape has been released of V. Stiviano saying negative things about black people. Stiviano by the way is reportedly half black and half Mexican.
TMZ Sports released the video and here’s some of her key points (Oh and yes of course she knew she was being taped):
– “I don’t understand black people. You give them a little bit of money, they don’t know what to do with it.”
– “[Black people] just act crazy … they’re like, ‘Yo, I wanna put extra rims on top of my rims. And my rims are gonna turn around. I’m gonna call them spinners.’
The footage was shot back in 2011 as part of a reality show pilot about gold diggers — V. Stiviano was one of the girls selected to appear … and in the clip, she rambles on and on about finding a mega-rich guy to settle down with.

The former CEO of Microsoft Steve Ballmer has seemingly become the new owner of the Los Angeles Clippers.
Ballmer has submitted a $2 billion offer to buy the team, a record bid for an NBA team.
The the business man’s bid bested Oprah Winfrey, David Geffen, Larry Ellison and others looking to purchase the basketball franchise.
Only the $2.1 billion Magic Johnson and The Guggenheim Partners paid for the Los Angeles Dodgers tops Ballmer’s offer.
Donald Sterling recently signed a letter to give him wife authorization to field offers for the team and she has accepted this bid, reports the Los Angeles Times. Sterling, who was decimated in the court of public opinion for racist comments, has to agree for the sale to be finalized. Previously, he has vowed not to sell at all.
Ballmer lives in Seattle, but has promised to keep The Clippers in Los Angeles. He is worth $20 billion.
Donald Sterling‘s tragic fall from “grace” has been as long, drawn out, and public as one could imagine, and it doesn’t appear it’ll go away any time soon. The NBA, and a large majority of its superstar players, are working actively to have Sterling removed officially as owner of the team (he’s already been banned from taking part in any basketball operations), and yesterday a report broke that Lebron James planned on boycotting the league for the 2014-2015 regular season if Sterling was still an NBA owner at its onset.
Today, UK news site Daily Mail reported details from more leaked conversations with Sterling: this time, a chat he had with his “long-time friend” Maserati. In the conversation, Daily Mail listed the many different topics that were brought up, and a large part of them are quite disturbing.
Donald Sterling taped during hour-long call to long-time friend Maserati
Sterling claims mistress V.Stiviano is the true racist, who hates being part-black and bleaches her skin every day
Moans how he has been brought down just because he ‘talked to a girl’ and told her ‘anything she wanted to hear’ just so he could ‘play with her’
Claims he’s not racist at all and ‘vast majority’ of white people don’t think about color – whereas black people do
Says having black basketball player and wife stay at his apartment proves he’s not racist
Says their sex was ‘hot’ even if it ‘took an hour to ‘get there’
Claims she turned up two months after they met at Super Bowl and told him ‘I’ve been thinking about you’ before she ‘did her thing’ in private room
Claims she blackmailed him: ‘She wanted more money… she told me she’d do anything to get what she wants or bring me down’
He claims her family are scared of her and she treats them ‘with the whip’
The article also alleges that conversations between Sterling and Maserati revealed Sterling reporting that every morning, Stiviano would get up and tell him she wishes she were white, in addition to the allegations of skin bleaching we included above.
Among his 99 other problems, Donald Sterling should probably try and keep better friends.
