London Shows For Dave Chappelle June 2019

Following sold out shows at the Royal Albert Hall last year with Jon Stewart, Dave Chappelle returns to the UK this June to perform at London’s Adelphi Theatre and Hackney Empire.

Chappelle’s clever, in-your-face brand of humour has made him one of the most respected entertainers of his generation. In March 2017, Chappelle returned to television via streaming giant Netflix with two highly-anticipated specials, The Art of Spin, and Deep in the Heart of Texas, filmed in Los Angeles, CA and Austin, TX. The critically-acclaimed specials satisfied his fans and introduced a new legion of followers to his sidesplitting, thought-provoking style of political and social commentary.

In 2005, Chappelle walked away from his groundbreaking sketch comedy show, Chappelle’s Showon Comedy Central. During the 8 years that followed, he performed pop-up stand-up dates, made occasional television appearances, and toured extensively throughout the United States, United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Canada, and Australia. From intimate comedy clubs to theatres and arenas, Chappelle’s live performances often sold out within minutes of being announced.

Comedy Central ranks Chappelle as Number 43 of the “100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time.” Esquire Magazine has called him “the comic genius of America,” and he was featured on the cover of GQ Magazine’s Man of the Year issue in 2015. In April 2017, he graced the cover of The New York Times’ T-Magazine.

Free Download – Mac Miller & Madlib Recorded An Unreleased Joint Album Titled ‘Maclib’

Thelonious Martin also revealed that ‘Swimming’ was originally called ‘Guidelines.’
Since Mac Miller’s death last September, little information has surfaced about his catalog of unreleased music. While we still don’t know if a posthumous album will be released, Thelonious Martin did reveal that Mac had at least one project recorded. In an interview with DJBooth, he said that Mac has an album with producer Madlib that he never put out.

“He had this Madlib album, called Maclib,” Martin said. “I opened for Madlib in Chicago last summer, at Pitchfork. So I’m opening for Madlib, and about 15, 20 minutes left in my set, Madlib pulls up. Pete Rock walks up as well. So I’m trying to focus and DJ, and Madlib gets on and 15 minutes into his set he just randomly plays a Mac Miller joint. And I turn to him, I’m like, ‘There’s more of these, right?’ He’s said, ‘Oh, yeah, there’s a whole album. Maclib.’ What! What! He just kept moving on with his DJ set. If Madlib decides to bless the world with that project, he should.”

Miller and Madlib have just one previously released collaboration—2014’s “Piñata”with Freddie Gibbs—but it seems they have far more material in the vault.

Martin explained that overall, he wouldn’t want Mac’s material released without the rapper there to oversee it. “I feel like, an album is such a personal conversation to have and the person’s not there to sign off on it,” he said. “He had a ton of music that was completely different from what the public would get… I don’t like posthumous albums, I don’t.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Martin revealed that Mac’s 2018 album, Swimming, was originally called Guidelines.

“[It] was the title of the track we had put out at the time,” he said. “Initially, that was the title track. We were having these long conversations about putting together an album, cause I’m telling him about how I’m putting together mine. We’re going back and forth about how to touch an audience, how to make an audio world.”

“Guidelines” dropped on August 20, 2018, the final Mac Miller song released during the rapper’s lifetime.

Lil Jon opens second school in Ghana with Pencils of Promise (exclusive)

Grammy-winning rapper Lil Jon is doing some good in a time when the world needs it most.

Pencils of Promise, the organisation which helps to build schools and increase educational opportunity in developing countries, has confirmed that Lil Jon opened his second school in the village of Mafi Atitekpo in Ghana. The new school named, Mafi Atitekpo DA Primary School, broke ground in December 2017 and was officially inaugurated in July 2018, and has since been operating since with 313 children enrolled.

Thanks to Lil Jon’s generous donation of $70,000, Pencils of Promise was able to build schools with safe conditions. Most of these schools face overcrowding, forcing some students to learn under a tree outside of the school. Witnessing these learning conditions firsthand during his first trip to Ghana is what motivated Lil Jon to help.

The first school Lil Jon helped to fund in October 2017 was built in honor of late mother, Carrie M.Smith, which currently enrolls nearly 250 students. Overall, PoP is impacting over 35,000 students in Ghana.

“Last year [October of 2017] I went with my family to open up my first Pencils of Promise school in Ghana, and now to have over 300 kids already enrolled in my second school there is incredible! It’s been really fulfilling to see the impact these schools have made on so many of these children’s and families’ futures,” said Lil Jon.

PoP has also teamed up with stars such as Justin Bieber and Olivia Culpo in the past to support these difficult educational systems.
